It's 4:30 am. Elise has been awake for an hour. No end in sight. She is fed and changed. I spent the last hour in a dark room with a "sounds from nature" sound machine. She squirmed and kicked and grunted for the entire time (even while nursing) so I moved downstairs so Nick could sleep. The kid is NOT TIRED. She's had gas drops and a bottle. What the heck Elise. I hate everyone who says their baby sleeps through the night at 8 weeks.
Oh look, the 5am news is almost on...

haha, oh rach, hopefully you'll get a nice nap in today at least! I'm working the whole weekend so at least you'll have someone to text at 4 am ;)
ReplyDeleteI think parents who say their kids sleep through the night at 8 weeks are making it up. At 10 months old, Mia still gets up AT LEAST once every night.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a swing? We have a swing that plays music and has a mobile for 14 minute stretches. I used to do that in desperate times. It'd entertain her long enough for me to fall asleep, and usually by the end of the 14 minutes she was sleeping too.
Stop by my blog today, I'm giving away plush elephants and I think Elise needs one. ;)

ReplyDeleteJust to make you feel better - my first was up every 2 hours for the first 4 months of his life. Hang in there!
