I'm done. Let's party.

I had my last radiation treatment today.  My LAST treatment.

It's been 8 months since I was diagnosed.  It seems so long ago, but it went by so quickly.  SO much has happened in 8 months.  We sold our house, lived at the lake, moved to a new house.  Elise has changed so much.  Fertility preservation.  12 chemo treatments.  Shots.  My hair fell out.  It's growing back in.  Three and a half weeks of daily radiation.  And now I'm done.  Done. I even got an award:
It kind of makes me feel like a first grader.  Someone even decorated it with flowers and a purple marker.  It's pretty awesome.

So many people have helped us over the course of the last 8 months.  So we're having a little party.  A get-together.  A shin-dig.  For all our friends and family.  Anyone that brought us a meal, or sent us a card.  Or said an extra prayer for us.  We want to see ALL of you.  I see how many people read this little blog - everyone is welcome.  This means you!  It's just a little way for us to say a BIG thank you.

So mark your calendars.  June 2nd - a Saturday.

It'll be open-house style.  We'll start around 4pm.  Come whenever you can.  Stay for a few minutes or stay all night.  We'd love to see you.  We'll have the grill going with hot dogs and burgers.  We'll have beer.  So come and celebrate with us.   We have a new house with lots of space.  And we beat cancer.

If you're thinking about coming - please let me know so we have an idea of how many people to expect.  Just drop me an e-mail (rachelgoote@yahoo.com) or leave a comment with your e-mail address and I'll reply with our address and directions if you need them.

DONE.  Whoohoo!

Pretties

Lauren is here for a few days.  Elise spent an hour going through her bag - including all the make-up.   She and Auntie Lauren were both looking very beautiful.

Today we took advantage of our season pass to FMG - and headed out to see the butterflies again!  This time with both Aunties in tow.  It was nice enough to play outside in the children's garden too.

stickerface

Elise was having lots of fun with stickers tonight.  Daddy kept putting them on her face - but she liked it and kept putting more on there too.  I find stickers everywhere lately.

Elise's "pretty smile".  It's a beauty.  Pardon the booger-face.  We're fighting a little cold in the Goote house.  I blame nursery.

Easter 2012

We had a great Easter.  We went to church where I stayed in the nursery with Elise.  She has never been in nursery before - and last week we just dropped her off.  We were called out of church within 20 minutes and poor Elise was beside herself.  It took her probably 30 minutes to calm down.   This week I stayed with her so she can get used to it.  We only had a few tears and after the first 30 minutes she was okay not touching me.  By the end she was playing with the other kids.

We had a great lunch and an Easter egg hunt at the Lake!  Nick's family came too so we had like 10 adults following Elise around.  It was a little pathetic but so fun.

best. park. ever.

Two posts in one day.  You lucky ducks you.
Mostly because I'm behind on my blogging.
And it's Easter tomorrow so I'm sure I'll have some more pictures for you.
Be excited.   (I'm kidding.)

Today was beautiful.  We took Elise to Hager Park this morning.  We used to go there as kids.  This place is awesome.  It's huge.  Really huge.  Elise cried and cried when we had to leave for lunch.   And it's only a mile and half from our house!

She didn't want to go in the swing.  She just wanted to push it.

Childrens Museum

Last week we went to the Children's Museum with our friends Andrea & Jacob.  It was so cool - we will be back very soon.   Elise was SO tired.

In the car!

The only shot of the two of them.  They were both very busy.

Bees!  Elise can say "bee" now.

Butterflies

Last week we went to go see the butterflies at FMG.   Elise was much more interested this year than she was last year.  She basically pointed at butterflies the whole time.  She would see them before us!  One even landed on my mom's finger.

We will definitely be going back soon!
