mo, boppee, ama, & bowbow

According to Elise that means milk, Pacey (the tiny dog), Grandma, and elbow.

We spent today at the Lake. We will spend tomorrow there too.  It is so beautiful outside these days. Elise loves it out there.  Who wouldn't?

She insisted she wear her sunglasses on her head instead of her face.

This girl's got it made.

She learned how to honk the horn on Grandpa's boat.

NYC

Double Post Day.  You are the luckiest.  *sarcasm*

Nick and I went to NYC for a long weekend.  It was perfect weather.  We hopped on a double-decker tour bus and pretty much saw everything.  It was super fun.  Our hotel was about 2 blocks from Times Square.  We spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday outside walking around, on and off the bus.  Downtown, Uptown, Central Park...the works.

We even saw Elmo.  We got lost in Central Park, visited the Museum of Natural History, the 9/11 Memorial, South Street Seaport, Chinatown, Little Italy...ate New York Pizza. We even bought super discounted tickets to an off-Broadway show which turned out to be really funny.

We waved to the statue of Liberty.

Monday it poured all day long.  We went to the Today Show in Rockefeller Center in the morning where Ann Curry told us to go inside because we were crazy.  We were soaked. We had tickets to Top of the Rock on Monday but the visibility was so awful we couldn't see anything.  We also did an NBC Studio Tour.  And we ate way too many Magnolia Cupcakes.

We crammed everything we could into four days and it was perfect.
Elise stayed with my Mom and Dad and had a great time.  Thanks so much you guys.

I think she was pretty glad that we were home.

A day at the Lake.

This post is a little old but it was in my drafts.  And it's super-cute.

I brought Elise over to my Mom's on last Tuesday morning before MOPS. Auntie Lauren is still here so they were pretty excited to play with sweet Elise all morning. When I got back Elise scarfed some macaroni and cheese and we played outside the rest of the day.  This child has got it made.

"oh ya know - just fishin' in the lake on a Tuesday..."

She still loves her swing!
She's waving to Auntie Lauren here.

I just want to kiss this cute little face.  Or at least wipe all the boogers off.  Okay I'll do both.  Love.

the definition of dirty.

I cut up some watermelon the other day while Elise played outside on the deck. She LOVED it and scarfed a ton of it.

Here she is.  Post nap hair.  Wet.  Watermelon dripping down her chin onto her legs.  Hands covered in sand (which turns into sticky watermelon mud).   Girlfriend had the best day ever.
I just had to strip her down before she was allowed inside.

Mothers Day 2012

We spent Mothers Day out at my Mom and Dad's house on the Lake.

Elise went on her first kayak ride.  And her first SeaDoo ride.

She was so relaxed she fell asleep for a second.

And then she had a Popsicle and chilled with her hand down Grandma's shirt for awhile.  Little weirdo.  Oh, she can say "boobies" now.

She is wearing only this white onesie because I was a dumbo and forgot play clothes or a bathing suit.

Up and down the slide.  Over and over.

She found the dress-up bin.

We had such a great day.  It finally feels like summer around here.

Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms out there!

Building towers and a haircut.

Elise loves playing with her Legos lately. She'll sit in there quietly for a long time. I think she just figured out how they stack one day and now she loves building towers.

I kept telling her to stand up but she wasn't into that.

Our friend Mrs. Eisma came over and fixed my hair today.  It was looking bad.  I looked like a fuzzy dandelion.  Or a kitten with a static problem.  Or something else really fuzzy.  It looks so much better!  This hairstyle is SO easy and fast.  It needs to get a little longer though...

She's topless because her shirt was covered in ketchup after lunch.  And we were playing with stickers.  Welcome to my life.

Red Stroller

We've been going on lots of walks lately.  She loves her red stroller.

She looking so big....

"Oh hey Mom has the camera! I better put on my cute face!"

summer is almost here!

It has been so beautiful the last couple days. And then of course the weekend hits and it's cold and rainy. These are from last week when it was so hot out.  Elise loves her little water table.  This is her saying "uh-oh! uh-oh!" because she spilled water.  It's okay buddy.

She doesn't say "car" yet.  She just makes car noises.

Aww.  I have no idea why I look so freckly.  Weird.  My girl is so sweet.

Greenhouse

Elise and I didn't have much to do yesterday so we headed to the Greenhouse to help Grandma get some flowers. She was not in the mood for my camera.  But she is SO cute.  This place had Steenstra's Windmill cookies out for everyone.   She loved those things.

Cutest. Ponytail. Ever.

This video is too cute not to post.  I promise I won't have a video for every post.  But she was playing so quietly by herself this morning I had to go see what she was doing.  So sweet.  And this is her morning hair - a frizzy mess.

So it's been awhile.

Whoa.  Blogger is weird and new.  I don't know if I can handle this.

We've been busy.  Nick was in Japan last week for work.  I left on Thursday to drive down to Joplin while my sweet in-laws watched Elise until Nick got home on Friday afternoon.  A 11 hour drive to Missouri is way to long for an almost-2-year old for a day and half visit.   Although I would have loved to see her playing with all her cute cousins.  I took a bunch of pictures but something is wrong with my SD card and now I can't find them.  I hope they're not gone forever because I would be really sad.  Oh, the horror.  Anyways, I'm working on it and I will post them later if I can recover them.

We loved seeing all you guys down in Joplin.  I am officially back on a diet.  Haha.

Here's a little video to tide you over until then.  I was putting away some clothes in her closet and thought we would try on her princess dress for our Disney Cruise in August.  She insisted on the headband and kept putting it back on when it fell off.  Girly.Girl.
